Application & Surface Prep Guide

Substrate Preparation & Abrasive Blasting

Concrete must be abrasive blasted/shot-blasted to remove laitance and achieve a CSP 3–5 profile. Steel surfaces must be blasted to Sa 2.5 standard.

Apply LeakProof Epoxy/PU Polyurea Primer to seal concrete moisture and pores, preventing pinholes. Scatter quartz sand if mechanical keying is required.

Requires heated, high-pressure plural-component spray equipment (mixing ratio 1:1 by volume). Maintain pressure at 2,000 - 2,500 psi and pre-heat temperatures at 60℃ - 70℃.

Spray LP-Coat PUA 2000 continuously to the required thickness (typically 1.5 - 3.0 mm) in cross-hatch passes. Inspect pinholes using a high-voltage spark detector.
